A house of kindness
Beit Hachesed exists to turn compassion into action — feeding, uplifting, and walking alongside our community with dignity and warmth.

Rabbi Moshe Aharon Pinto
From a very young age, Rabbi Moshe Pinto was determined to continue in the path of his ancestors, the Pinto and Abuchatzira families. At the age of thirteen, Rabbi Moshe left his parent’s home to pursue Rabbinical studies in Israel and follow in the footsteps of Rabbi Haim Pinto Hagadol, who became the renowned “Sabba De-Mishpatim” Dayan (Rabbinical Judge) at the age of eighteen.
Five years later, upon completing his studies in Dayanut, Rabbi Moshe decided to return home to the United States to spread Torah where it is needed most. Rabbi Moshe became the Rabbi of Baba Sale Congregation in Los Angeles, as well as Founder & President of the CHAI Organization.
Rabbi Pinto has a particular love for the study of complex halachic concepts, as well as Kabbalistic study. He gives a wide variety of shiurim on topics including Halacha, Parasha, Hassidut and Zohar Hakadosh.

וְאָהַבְתָּ לְרֵעֲךָ כָּמוֹךָ
Love your fellow as yourself

Built on kindness, sustained by community
Beit Hachesed — a House of Kindness — began with a simple conviction: that no one in our community should face hunger, isolation, or a milestone alone. From a single kitchen, we grew into a network of care that nourishes families, celebrates couples, and brings light to every season.
We serve with discretion and respect, so that asking for help is never a source of shame. Every meal, every gift, every hand offered is a quiet act of love.
Our aspiration is to reach every family who is hungry, every couple starting out, every neighbor who would otherwise go without — with hot meals, grocery parcels, wedding support, and holiday packages. What began around one table is our hope for countless lives, and with every new friend who joins us, the circle of kindness grows wider — until no table is empty and no neighbor is alone.
